Details & FAQs:

A PDO Thread Lift is an FDA-approved treatment that lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue using a dissolvable barbed surgical suture made of polydioxanone (PDO).

Considered the middle ground between facelift surgery and filler, PDO Thread Lifts are a unique advancement in non-surgical face rejuvenation. They're an excellent option for patients who desire firm, taut skin without going under the knife.

During a PDO Thread Lift, we use dissolvable, medical-grade PDO suture material with invisible and painless barbs embedded in the thread. This unique type of thread provides support and lift to the desired area. The barbs ensure the threads grip the underlying tissue and muscles as they're pulled tight.

The lifting thread is introduced superficially into the middle layer of the skin, and the barbs attach to your skin and delicately lift the cheeks and jawline to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

A PDO Thread Lift produces 3 effects:
Instant skin lifting
Cellular renewal through collagen stimulation
Improvement of texture, fine lines, and wrinkles

What areas can we treat?

A PDO Thread Lift treats sagging skin in the lower face area around the marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

How long will the procedure take, and what's the downtime?

A PDO Thread Lift procedure takes approximately 60 minutes.

Bruising, swelling, and redness are common with this procedure. There are no incisions with a PDO thread lift, and no scars are visible.

Is it safe?

PDO thread treatments are safe, and there are very few side effects. PDO threads do not impact your ability to receive a facelift.

Will the procedure be painful?

We numb the insertion area with a local anesthetic and use as many sutures as needed to hold elevated tissue in place. While you may experience discomfort during the procedure, it should not be painful.

Maintenance:

The threads themselves disappear through hydrolysis after six months. The lifted facial contours can remain for one year due to collagen-boosting effects.

Am I a good candidate for a PDO Thread Lift?

PDO thread lifts are ideal for patients in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who still have adequate facial volume and are looking for a non-invasive lift.

Patients with significant volume loss or sagging skin may not be a good candidate for this procedure.
