Mono threads, also called smooth threads, are absorbable smooth surgical sutures inserted under the skin to build collagen (giving a lifting and tightening effect) and improve overall skin quality in the treated area.
Smooth threads are placed more superficially under the skin than barbed or "lifting" threads,” and are best for regenerating skin quality and increasing firmness.
During a mono thread appointment, we'll insert the smooth threads under the skin and anchor them to a point on the face or scalp. When the threads are introduced, they elicit a micro-injury, causing the body to respond by regenerating collagen and elastin in the area.
