Details & FAQs:

Mono threads, also called smooth threads, are absorbable smooth surgical sutures inserted under the skin to build collagen (giving a lifting and tightening effect) and improve overall skin quality in the treated area.

Smooth threads are placed more superficially under the skin than barbed or "lifting" threads,” and are best for regenerating skin quality and increasing firmness.

During a mono thread appointment, we'll insert the smooth threads under the skin and anchor them to a point on the face or scalp. When the threads are introduced, they elicit a micro-injury, causing the body to respond by regenerating collagen and elastin in the area.

What areas can we treat?

Areas that we can treat include:
Above the lateral brow
Below the chin
The neck
The accordion lines around the lip

How long will the procedure take, and what's the downtime?

A Smooth Thread procedure takes approximately 60 minutes.

Bruising and swelling are common with this procedure, so expect 2-3 days of downtime.

Is it safe?

PDO thread treatments are safe, and there are very few side effects. PDO threads do not impact the patient's ability to receive a facelift.

Will the procedure be painful?

The insertion area is numbed with a local anesthetic. While you may experience discomfort during the procedure, it should not be painful.

We recommend maintenance every 6 months for best results.
